Gift to pets in Will grabbing headlines As you may have read in the press recently, the late designer Alexander McQueen left £50,000 (of a £16 million estate) in his Will to ensure his pet dogs were well cared for, along with a number of other charitable gifts. When considering who to leave your estate to after your death, you may wish to consider such a trust for a family pet or for charities. Indeed, leaving gifts to charities can assist in reducing the inheritance tax liability on your estate if there is one. To discuss making such gifts in your Will, please contact our Private Client team on 01245 228107 or who will be able to assist you.
