This year the Arts Trail was curated and successfully organised by The 'Shiny' Shed' www.theshinyshed.blogspot.com Feedback from people taking part in the Chelmsford Arts Trail, clients and business contacts who visited the Exhibition at Gepp & Sons was vey positive and in so many ways inspirational for the Students involved. The standard and creativity of the work displayed was exceptional and we were extremely proud to be associated with the 6 local secondary schools that took part and we wish to thank their young and talented students for allowing us to exhibit their work. • Chelmer Valley High School • Chelmsford High School for Girls • Great Baddow High School • Hylands School • Sandon School • St John Payne Catholic School On Friday 16th September, a reception was held at 58 New London Road, Chelmsford for a large number of Head Teachers, Heads of Art, teaching staff, students and parents who attended. The competition was extremely difficult to judge, the standard and quality of the work was so exceptionally high. Edward Worthy and Steven Payne, Partners of Gepp & Sons, however, after considerable deliberation, managed to choose three prize winners, and made the following awards: 1st Prize – Alexandra Wharfe, Year 13, from Chelmer Valley High School, for her piece titled 'Curves'. 2nd Prize – Kausar Rafee, Year 12, from Hylands School for his Figure Study in Oil 3rd Prize – Charlotte Bush, Year 13, from Chelmsford County High School for Girls with for her oil on board portrait of Shambavi Ragupathy. All the winners received Hobby Craft vouchers. Many thanks to all the students that took part and we wish them every success in the future. Special thanks also to the Heads of Art who co-ordinated their individual school's participation in the exhibition.
