Throughout September, participating solicitors generously donate their time to prepare simple Wills in exchange for a donation to Farleigh Hospice. It is an opportunity to protect your loved ones, gain peace of mind and help ensure Farleigh can continue providing specialist care and support to people affected by life-limiting illnesses and bereavement across mid Essex.

Why making a Will matters

Many people delay making a Will, often believing they have plenty of time or that everything will automatically pass to their loved ones. Unfortunately, this is not always the case.

A professionally prepared Will allows you to:

  • Decide who inherits your estate.
  • Appoint guardians for children under 18.
  • Choose the people you trust to administer your estate.
  • Help minimise potential disputes between family members.
  • Ensure your wishes are carried out after your death.

If you already have a Will, it is also important to review it regularly, particularly if your circumstances have changed through marriage, divorce, buying a property, welcoming children or grandchildren, or changes to your financial situation.

Farleigh Hospice provides compassionate care and support to thousands of local people every year, both within the hospice and in patients’ own homes. As an independent charity, much of this care is made possible through donations, fundraising and gifts left in Wills.

By taking part in Make a Will Month, your donation will help Farleigh continue providing this invaluable service to families throughout our community.

There is no obligation to leave a gift to Farleigh Hospice in your Will, although many people choose to do so after providing for their family and friends. Every gift, regardless of size, helps support future hospice care.

Make a Will Month is always extremely popular and appointments are available on a first come, first served basis throughout September.
